Hospital Building Rendering(.jpg)

Ground was broken in March 2002 for the initial hospital wing. This building will house out-patient facilities (including lab, x-ray, ultrasound, dental, and pharmacy), and 32 in-patient beds including operating and delivery rooms. (.jpg)

The future chapel/auditorium building will provide facilities for medical education and public health programs. (.jpg)

Status Update
August 15, 2005
The project is moving along, as funds are available. Current photos can be seen on our website. A team and funding is in place to finish out the interior of the ground floor this October as well as construct the ramp and staircase to the second floor. The ground floor is expected to open for service November 1st for out-patient services, while in-patient services will expand in the ground floor of the existing building (taking the space now occupied by the out-patient department, lab & pharmacy)

Although not pictured, also in place is the water and electrical distribution for the entire site (these were HUGE expenses). By God’s grace the upper floors will be completed next year, as these will be less costly since infrastructures are in place.

Our greetings to Gary, Chad and the rest of the team!

Original Project Scope
This indigenous Nigerian denomination has set itself up with an international support network and has begun several hospitals since 1989. This new medical work in Abuja is just getting started with one existing building on the site being used to house visiting teams of doctors, construction crews, or engineers and architects, as the case may be.

This new hospital will serve as a regional medical center within one of twelve church districts. A foundation has already been laid for the main hospital structure, but the ministry has contacted EMI with a plea for help to go beyond the sketches they have. Our EMI team will survey the site, develop a master plan, and design the main hospital (working within the constraints of a foundation already in the ground).
