Project Scope
For the last year and one half, we have been working this critical project in East Asia. Our design team just returned from East Asia yesterday (4/10). We have an urgent request from our Mission partner to build and oversee construction of one of these greenhouses. This greenhouse will be built in East Asia using non-conventional but easily learned construction techniques such as earth bags.
This will be the first of many greenhouses that will be built this year and the prototype for at least six that will be built this fall. What makes this trip so important is that some of the greenhouses will be built without the oversight of a construction manager. This team will be making any design changes in the field and photographing the entire process to facilitate this process. These changes and photographs will be incorporated into a HOW TO BOOKLET (a step by step guide), for construction and operation.
Do you have a heart for using your construction skills to serve the poorest of the poor? If so, this greenhouse project could really use your help. Each one of these greenhouses (about 2000 square feet in size) will help feed at least 40 people, year around. The GH locations are in poor villages, and some will be associated with an existing medical clinic. We have much more to tell you about this project, and can share that by phone or email. Would you consider volunteering two and a half weeks of your time, and in turn, impact the lives of thousands of people for generations to come?
Note- total out of country time would be 2 ½ weeks +/- in early to mid July. Team members must have previous CM and EMI trip experience.
