Project Scope
YWAM is currently operating Rancho Los Amigos, a home for children on the outskirts of Juarez Mexico in Sauzal. The home is still the original adobe structure constructed in the 1960's, with several additions over the years. There is a pressing need to increase capacity to care for more children, and to design a new home better suited to the growth, operation, and ongoing ministry.

The goal is to design a new 20,000 square foot home for this purpose and to care for up to 70 children and to house the associated 20 or so, staff and families for this work. The eMi team will design the new children's home to replace the current structure for the YWAM ministry as we have so many times in the past, including ministry campus functions such as dorms, kitchen/dining hall, classrooms, library, laundry, infirmary/clinic, and storage and distribution areas for ministry to the local poor.

As much as any project, this EMI team will be challenged to design sensitively and responsibly, responding to conditions and constraints presented by the local culture, location, materials, and methods. Please consider joining us in this opportunity to share and represent the love of Christ!
