EMI Project 5442

October 10 - 24, 2008

Original Project Scope
In Nyando District, there is a small Baptist church with a big vision. The Othoo Baptist Church has noticed that when the children return home from boarding school, they all get sick because of the water. But there is no nearby clinic. All of the sick from this area (youth and adults alike) must travel far to receive medical care. The church desires to build the St. Clementine and Ruth Medical Clinic on a piece of property across the street from the church building. This will be a clinic staffed by rotating doctors from Nairobi, and will be able to serve most ailments, only referring the sickest to the nearest hospital.

They have asked EMI to help with the site plan for the 2 acre lot which will contain the clinic, doctor's residence, and caretaker's residence. They are also planning on drilling a well nearby to provide clean water for the village. So, we will also be designing the water pipeline to the medical clinic site from the well.

Do you have a heart for using your design skills to serve the poorest of the poor? If so, this church could really use your skills to help see the vision God has given them become reality! Would you consider volunteering just a week or so of your time, and in turn, impact the lives of thousands of people for generations to come?

Note- total out of country time, would be close to two weeks.
