Allen worked for a major integrated oil and gas company for 30 years as a geoscientist (geophysics and geology) both domestically and internationally. While staying in the upstream end of the business, he worked in teams from development to New Ventures. Hi favorite parts were working with multi-disciplinary teams.
In addition, he is currently enrolled in a Masters in Leadership and Ministry program at Ambrose Seminary.
Allen has served in many areas in his church, from Christian Education to worship to leading at the board level. For the past several years, he has been part of the Global Impact Team and served as chair in that role. Missions has been a growing part of Allen's life with a big ramp up when he served Syrian refugees in Greece for a short time. It has been an exciting experience to see how he can merge his technical scientific background with God's mission in the world. He believes eMi is a great place to put these together as they design a wworld of hope!
Allen is married to Melissa and together they have 3 boys, 1 girl and one daughter-in-law. Melissa is a nurse in the Alberta Children's Hospital child and adolescent mental health program and is also studying to achieve her Master's degree, in nursing at the University of Calgary.
