On February 6, multiple earthquakes hit Turkey with devastating effects throughout the region, including much of Syria. EMI is responding in several ways:
1. Sent a team to technically support Water Mission as they installed water treatment systems. These systems provide clean drinking water for those affected by the crisis in IDP camps, clinics, and community kitchens. 
2. Provided remote technical support to Medair Syria's shelter and WASH team as they responded to those affected by the earthquake.
3. Sent a Disaster Risk Reduction structural assessment team to screen buildings for seismic hazards through a partnership with the Protestant Church Foundation - Turkey. EMI is sending a second team in September/October 2023!
We plan to send additional teams for the recovery process and Disaster Risk Reduction support as requested by our partners. Our goal is to continue sharing hope by meeting the needs of those devastated by this disaster.
