In 2013 Andy participated in a summer internship under the guidance of a civil engineer in eSwatini (Swaziland), Africa. As a student he experienced interest in both pastoral and design work and was eager to discern how the Lord might use both passions. Andy worked in 4 ministries over the next 3 years culminating in an internship with Engineering Ministries International (EMI).
After his internship, Andy spent 4 years growing in expertise as a structural engineer before joining EMI staff as the US Intern Coordinator. The next 4 years was a special season of investing in over 130 interns which Andy hired, mentored and mobilized to 11 other EMI office locations. In 2023 the Lord blessed Andy with a wonderful spouse in Sarah. Andy & Sarah currently reside in Colorado Springs where they continue to host & mentor interns regularly while investing in their local church, family and enjoying the Rockies.
Andy currently works in Disaster Response Mobilization & Recruitment/Engagement for EMI. In 2025, Andy is eager to become licensed as a P.E. (Professional Engineer) while preparing to transition to a Project Manager-Civil Engineering Lead position with EMI. Each year Andy continues to use & develop his experience as a civil/structural engineer on project trips around the globe.
