My life was forever changed after a trip to Guatemala. I witnessed firsthand the desperate needs of just some of the 1.8 billion people world-wide without a clean source of water. Later, I met my wife Haven at Oklahoma State University. We both pursued our passions for Christ, ministry, and cross-cultural engagement. We got married in October 2022 and have loved using our gifts together to advance the Kingdom of God!
I later had the opportunity to go on a trip to Cambodia and see what God is doing through EMI. I helped share the love of Christ by helping in designing sustainable water and wastewater solutions. We felt God’s call to offer our lives as a living sacrifice, following Him into His minstry to the world. Alongside EMI we are able to reach those most in need with the skills and abilities God has given us.
In 2024 I graduated EMI’s young professional program, the Fellowship Programme. Through the curriculum I was able to engage with theology and leadership material that has further prepared us for our ministry. After finishing our time in Nicaragua, we were able to engage with the people and culture through learning Spanish. We now share a deep love for Latin America and are excited to be serving the Lord in Mexico.
At EMI, I use civil engineering to help design solutions for some of the 100 projects EMI completes every year. To keep these design services affordable to ministries around the world, staff are responsible for raising their own support. We would be honored if you would prayerfully consider partnering with us in the great things that God is doing through our ministry at EMI.
Con Amor,
Jacob and Haven Pekrul
