Ministry Experience

Andy first developed an interest in using engineering skills to equip ministries in high school while on a relief trip after Hurricane Katrina. After college, he had the opportunity to intern with an engineer and local missionaries in a small village in Swaziland (Eswatini), Africa where he helped facilitate care point outreach to the primarily orphan-based community alongside local projects and community garden development. Upon returning to the states, Andy spent a year working as a peer mentor in a farming-based Christian facility for young adults recovering from addiction called His Mansion Ministries. In 2015, Andy served as the college staff coordinator and program intern at Twin Rocks Friends Camp where he mentored counselors, facilitated retreats, and led an after-school program for youth. In 2020 Andy joined the EMI US office and hired, trained and mobilized over 140 interns to each of EMI's offices over the next 5 years.

Family

Andy grew up as the 3rd of 8 children in the Portland, Oregon area. Most of his family continue to reside in the PNW and both Colorado and the Northwest feel like home to him. His wife, Sarah, is originally from Nebraska but has lived in Colorado Springs since she was 11 years old. Andy and Sarah met in 2022 shortly after he returned from an EMI project in Haiti. They were married in the summer of 2023 and are eagerly looking forward to the birth of their twins in early 2026!
