After interning with EMI, Andy began working for Affinity Consulting Group in Colorado Springs. At ACG Andy performed structural design of residential and commercial structures as well as structural based forensic engineering in regards to designing repair plans for damaged and failing structures-typically due to foundation movement or water or fire based damage. Andy currently holds his EIT certification and has plans to become licensed in the state of Colorado in 2021.
Andy first developed an interest in using engineering skills to equip ministries in high school while on a relief trip after Hurricane Katrina. After college, he had the opportunity to intern with an engineer and local missionaries in a small village in Swaziland (Eswatini), Africa where he helped facilitate care point outreach to the primarliy orphan-based community alongside local projects and community garden development. Upon retuning to the states, Andy spent a year working as a peer mentor in a farming-based Christian facility for young adults recovering from addiction called His Mansion Ministries. In 2015, Andy served as the college staff coordinator and program intern at Twin Rocks Friends Camp where he mentored counselors, facilitated retreats, and led an after-school program for youth. The Lord directed him to the internship program at EMI afterwards where he experienced a renewed calling and hope to use design skills in ministry.
