Before joining EMI, Jon spent a couple of years in the space industry, working as a hardware test engineer on satellite ground stations. He first began serving at EMI part-time, contributing his electrical engineering to international projects, before transitioning to full-time staff to give his vocation fully to the ministry. Today Jon serves as an electrical engineer on hospitals, schools, and infrastructure projects across the globe.

Ministry Experience

Jon came to faith during his college years at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where he was discipled through the Navigators. That foundation shaped how he came to see his engineering, not simply as a profession, but as a way to serve God and others. While completing a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas, Jon focused his studies on how power systems engineering can make a difference for communities in need. Those studies took him on an EMI project trip to Kajjansi, Uganda, where he collaborated with Mission Aviation Fellowship to update their master plan. Witnessing firsthand the many people God has called to serve His Church, and the vital role reliable power plays in supporting development in underserved communities, Jon sensed God calling him to give his engineering to this work.

Family

Jon and Chloe have been married since 2019 and make their home in Colorado Springs. Chloe is a gifted teacher and artist whose creativity fills their home and encourages Jon in his own work. In 2023, they were blessed with the arrival of their son, Wesley, who has brought them tremendous joy. Becoming a husband and father has been one of the great gifts of Jon's life and has shaped his heart for the families and communities EMI serves around the world.
