Professional Training & Experience

  • BASc, Civil Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, CAN, 2010
  • P. Eng registered in Alberta, Canada

After graduating from university, Matt worked as a structural designer at Read Jones Christoffersen in Toronto for 3 years. After this season he joined EMI, first as an intern in 2013, then as a one year volunteer and currently as staff. He now serves as a deputy director at EMI Uganda.

Ministry Experience

As Matt was advancing in his engineering career he began looking for more purpose in his life. As he was seeking God's guidance for what to do differently, Matt heard about EMI for the first time. Through Matt's time with EMI he has met with many ministries. This has instilled in him a desire for the church to be working together, in partnership with one another. Matt has also volunteered with a ministry working with vulnerable children in Uganda.

Family

Matt and Ashley met in Uganda while Matt was volunteering with EMI and Ashley was volunteering with Doors Ministries. They married in 2015 and have 4 kids, one son (2016) and three daughters (2018, 2022, 2024). The Lammers live in Kampala, Uganda.
