Ministry Experience

Ryan's first international trip with EMI was as an intern out of the Colorado Springs office in 2008 to Kenya. Ryan then went to serve on three more project trips as an intern out of the EMI Uganda office in 2009.

During his professional career, Ryan volunteered as a civil engineer on three more EMI project trips in the 2010s. First, to Egypt in 2011, then Lebanon in 2012, and finally Nepal in 2015.

Ryan answered the call to join EMI Canada as full-time staff in 2024 when a request for an International Projects Manager / Project Leader was made known. It had been Ryan's prayer and dream to join EMI full time as a project leader ever since God first called Ryan to join EMI as an intern back in 2008. The request felt like a direct answer and confirmation to a 16 year long prayer and so Ryan walked in obedience to God's calling and accepted the position.

Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” God's calling for Ryan is a beautiful example of His faithfulness in all things, and that God is not slow to answer but knows the perfect place and time to bear fruit if we simply trust Him and patiently wait for the harvest.

Ryan now works hard to contribute to EMI Canada's growth, stability, and increased impact in the Kingdom of God by leading international EMI project teams to bring God's restoration to the world through design.
