Stephen was a founder Partner in Hall Black Douglas Architects in 1986 and retired from the practice at the end of 2022. Working mainly in Ireland, Stephen's experience was varied including hospitals, churches, housing, cultural centres - with particular interest in the re-use of buildings and conservation.
Stephen was blessed to have had a stimulating early development as a Christian leader through the work of Scripture Union and Crusaders (now Urban Saints), and leading youth work in his home church as a young adult.
Stephen has been an ordained leader in his local church for over 30 years; for much of that time he was responsible for leading the worship ministry.
As a musician, Stephen has had a long involvement with New Irish Arts - a performing arts network of Christian musicians and artists throughout Ireland; serving on the Board for 10 years as Chair.
Stephen is married to Ruth, and lives in Belfast. They have three grown children - Rachael, Hannah and Philip. Ruth now dIvides her time in caring for her mum, as well as helping out with a grandchild.
Stephen is delighted to have the privilege of serving part time with EMI UK, networking with the professions to highlight the opportunities to serve.
