I was raised in a Christian family and from an early age and I was fortunate to be exposed to multiple cultures from living overseas in early childhood. As a child I was able to grasp that there are a lot of people on the earth and there are many different lifestyles and cultures different from the United States. Now looking back though, I can recognize the need for Christ everywhere.
Fast-forward to my college years and although being raised in the church and believing in Christ, my faith wasn't a personal conviction until I remember very specifically the Holy Spirit telling me to go to church were God asked me who I was going to follow. Was I going to follow my own carnal desires for the American dream, or follow Christ? Of course my answer was Christ, and since then I've desired to serve Christ in all that I do which includes my professional career.
After college I sensed God calling me to move to the Pacific Northwest so I moved there and took a job with the government. In Washington, I continued to have my faith and character grown by the alone-time I had with God from being in a new community, by the church community God provided, and through youth and college-age ministries I was blessed to be apart of.
It was during this time that I was exposed to EMI after searching online for a way to serve Christ with my engineering degree, and went on a mission trip with EMI. I enjoyed being able to serve Christ in this capacity and I continued to volunteer as much as I could but from a remote basis.
Within all of this, I met my beautiful wife and we were married within 7 months after dating and have had 3 wonderful children since. During this tumultuous period between marriage, kids and world events, God started to transition us out of my job, and ultimately provided an opportunity to serve alongside EMI full-time to glorify Him, which we joyfully agreed to.
Each year, EMI's people complete over 100 development projects which serve the poor and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To keep these design services affordable for Christian ministries, professionals on EMI's staff are responsible for raising their own salaries.
We are so greatful for God's provision through the generosity of donors. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with the great things God is doing through Kyle's ministry at EMI?
