At 17 I took my first mission trip to Guatemala. I saw not just poverty, but a lack of basic necessities including water. It changed my life.

I started college with the goal of learning something that I could use to impact the people like those I met in Guatemala. While in college studying engineering, God gave me a vision and put a passion in my heart. This vision is to bring design professionals and missionaries together to provide tangible help to communities around the world as a way of reaching out and showing God’s compassion.

After several short term mission trips, while working as an engineer in Boston, I began full-time work as a missionary associate with CompassionLink five years ago.

Last March, I had the opportunity to work on a project with Engineering Ministries International (EMI) where I used the skills I’d learned and honed in school and in my time in Boston and had the opportunity to work with some of their incredible interns.

Now I’m transitioning from my role at CompassionLink (providing sustainable development training and starting an intern program) to that of Intern Coordinator for EMI.

In this new role I’ll work to mobilize and disciple young designers as they explore God’s calling on their lives as I continue to pursue the vision that the Lord gave me so many years ago.
