Kiersten was an AmeriCorps member in 2022-2023 where she served as a teacher aide for a Kindergarten and 1st Grade school in southern Colorado. After the AmeriCorps term ended, she was a substitute teacher until early 2024 when she transitioned to a junior project engineer. In this role, she worked on stormwater and erosion control design for residential communities. In August of 2025, she started EMI's Fellowship Program.
Ministry Experience
Kiersten had the opportunity to attend a few mission trips throughout high school. Once in college, she became very active with a college ministry and eventually became part of their leadership team. After graduating. she felt God challenging her to use her engineering degree in a ministry context. She attended a OneAccord conference to network with organizations working in this field and met an EMI fellow who encouraged Kiersten to apply for the program.
Family
Kiersten grew up all across the east coast of the US. Her parents currently reside in South Carolina and her sister is pursuing a degree in electrical engineering in Georgia.
