Are you ready to make an impact, test your limits and have a once in a lifetime experience? Join EMI in Cambodia this December to run the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon as a fundraiser for our new Cambodia office!

We are building a team of runners to raise these funds but in a unique way. All you have to do is train, fundraise and we’ll cover the rest!

Other than an epic race through ancient ruins, you will spend the week visiting EMI projects, meeting current clients and staff and experiencing the culture and beauty of Cambodia. You will hear stories of the big things God is doing in Cambodia and see firsthand how your fundraising is making an eternal impact.

Are you IN? Click “I’m Interested” and a team member will reach out to share more information.

The deadline to join the team is 22nd October!

Q: How much do I get to fundraise?

A: There is no minimum or maximum limit for this, but we recommend a donation of $5,000. There will be a prize for whoever raises the most! Your impact goes beyond race day and into truly making a lifelong difference in generations to come as we establish a permanent home for our Cambodia office. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s go!

Q: What does my time in Cambodia look like?

A: All participants will arrive in Phnom Penh on November 30th and leave on December 5th. For those who would like to spend more time exploring Cambodia, you may extend your stay, and the Cambodia office can help with some suggestions and logistics.

Race day is December 3rd, and during your stay, you will join with other designers excited about the work of EMI and the staff in Cambodia to visit project sites, experience a taste of Cambodian culture, explore ancient ruins and heritages, and more. Check out the informational packet to learn more!

Q: I’m not much of a runner. Are there different options?

A: This race is for all abilities whether you are an avid runner or more of a jog/walker. There are distance options including a 3km, 5km, 10km, and 21km. It is a great opportunity to challenge yourself amongst a beautiful, historical and cultural backdrop.

Q: Besides fundraising and training, what else do I need to do?

A: EMI will cover all local transportation, meals, accommodations, and the race registration process. All you need to do is focus on racing and raising!

Q: I’m only slightly interested, but afraid to commit. Is there a way to get more information?

A: Just click the “I’m interested” button and we will reach out to give you more information and answer any questions you may have.

The Angkor Wat International Half Marathon has been taking place since 1996 at one of the most famous UNESCO world heritages, Angkor Wat.

Angkor Archaeological Park, which is in northern Cambodia, is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. Stretching over some 400 sq. km, including forested areas, Angkor contains the magnificent remains of several capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century CE. This includes the famous temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon temple with its countless sculptural decorations.

Runners from all over the world participate to support a ban on the manufacture and inhumane use of antipersonnel mines. Entry fees and additional financial support foster independence among landmine victims by helping provide prosthetic limbs, social reintegration programs, and supporting other relevant and needed programs such as education and prevention of HIV/AIDS.
