Engineering at the Equator: a comparison of structural engineering practices in the UK and Uganda

On 23rd Feb, Luke Hanson, EMI UK trustee, will be sharing an award winning lecture with us - on Engineering at the Equator, and the differences between structural engineering in the UK and Uganda.

Luke spent January-May of 2024 at EMI Uganda in the structural engineering department. Since then, he's been working for a civil and structural engineering consultancy in Belfast. This lecture will compare his experiences and offer us an insight into how professional practice differs contextually.
