United Kingdom Newsletter, Summer
Our volunteers are a vital part of EMI. At EMI UK we're fortunate to be able to support volunteers from the UK to take part in trips hosted by our other offices. Here are a few stories from EMI UK Volunteers who have been on Project Trips so far this year.

Jamie Shotter - Uganda
I feel privileged to be able to help in the Lord's work for EMI. My service with EMI to date has been two project trips to Uganda engaged in concept design and master planning for infrastructure, water and sewerage for a Lead 4 Africa school in Gulu in the North and university student accommodation for the 314 Community in Mukono, between Kampala and Jinja. Although engineers normally work in the background unseen by those who benefit from the developments, it has always been a blessing to share in the work done by Christian organisations who are so enthusiastic to serve the Lord and give the best they can for young people in education and discipleship. I have volunteered with several Christian agencies in the humanitarian sector, much of it hands on work, but for me as retired Christian civil engineer, I feel the volunteering I do with EMI is my niche area and where I can give the most.

Meg Collin - Côte d'Ivoire
It was spiritually refreshing and professionally stimulating to serve on a recent EMI trip to design a school master plan in Côte d'Ivoire. A real highlight was working with the international team of 4, representing 3 different EMI offices and a diverse background. With the help of God, we overcame various unexpected challenges, including uncertainties about the site boundary and exact location to deliver a project that helped visualise the client's dream.
