CEO Transition

Effective 1 July 2026, EMI is thrilled to announce that Brad Crawford has been appointed as our next Chief Executive Officer. Brad has been serving as EMI staff for nearly 20 years as project leader, office director and most recently as Global Office COO. He has served in four EMI offices — Uganda, US, UK and Global — and has a deep understanding of our mission, vision and core values.

Following a comprehensive search process led by the Succession Planning Committee (SPC), a group comprised of members of the Global and US Boards, and a unanimous affirmation by both boards, Brad Crawford was recommended and approved to replace the previous President and CEO, John Dallmann.

A Note from John

Thank you for your faithful support of EMI as May 18th marked our 44th year of ministry. God has blessed EMI and led us through good times and lean. He deserves all the glory for our successes and I'm sure He is pleased by our unity and perseverance, as we've labored together to advance the Kingdom of God. Serving as CEO for the last 14 years has been such an incredibly exciting and fulfilling phase in Gala's and my life.

After much prayer and reflection, it has become increasingly clear that it is time for me to retire and hand over the helm to the next generation. Following a comprehensive search process led by the Succession Planning Committee (SPC), a group comprised of members of the Global and US Boards, and a unanimous affirmation by both boards, I am thrilled to announce that Brad Crawford will be taking over as EMI's next CEO, beginning July 1st.

I believe brad is exceptionally well positioned for this role with over 30 years of experience in structural engineering, management, and organizational leadership. He has served on EMI staff for nearly 20 years in four offices — Uganda, US, UK and Global — as a project leader, office director, and most recently Global COO for 12 years.

I am extremely happy that God has led Brad, along with his wife Alisha, to take this next step of faith and I have full confidence that he will lead EMI with a comprehensive grasp of where we've come from and a strong vision for kingdom impact in the years to come.

It has been an honor and a joy to serve EMI and I look forward to watching what God continues to do.

With Gratitude,
John Dallmann

A Note from Brad

As I look back over my 19+ years with EMI, I am humbled to have served under the last three CEOs and honored to have been mentored by John for the last 12 years.

John's leadership has helped shape EMI in profound ways that he himself would be hesitant to highlight. Through steady, faith-filled leadership, he has helped strengthen EMI's spiritual foundation while also guiding meaningful organizational growth and maturity. He has championed collaboration across regions and offices, invested in growing leaders throughout the organization, and helped foster a culture marked by prayer, humility, generosity, and care for people.

Under his leadership, EMI has expanded its global reach and influence while remaining committed to serving communities and ministry partners with excellence, compassion, and Christ-centered purpose. I know we all are so grateful for the faithful and sacrificial leadership he has provided over so many years.

I feel honored and humbled to serve as EMI's next CEO. This organization has meant a great deal to Alisha, me, and our family for two decades now, and I still feel it is an absolute privilege to be part of this ministry that God has seen fit to bless and grow for 44+ years.

As I look ahead, my vision is that EMI will continue building on the strong foundation already in place — remaining grounded in our mission while continuing to grow in health, unity, innovation, and global impact. I believe God is continuing to open new doors for EMI, and I look forward to walking faithfully into that future together.

Take Care,
Brad Crawford
