After completing an architecture degree in 1979, Steve felt that life as a young professional seemed surprisingly empty. The results of a search to fill the perceived “void” were life-changing: A decision to invite Jesus Christ into his life began a new, eternally directed, life path. That path led him to YWAM Mission Builders in 1998, then to EMI USA in 2000, and back to Calgary to start EMI Canada in 2002… "Serving with EMI has been and continues to be the most rewarding experience of my life. As a Christian architect, I was always interested in helping those less fortunate. With EMI, my heart to "serve the widows and orphans" is totally fulfilled. My heart is captured forever by a sense of accomplishment; that we have done something to help in His Kingdom—not in our own strength but in Jesus' name. It is a blessing now and a blessing for eternity.”
