I am excited to announce God's call on my life to return to Cambodia as an EMI fellow in July 2025, ready to serve and trust in God's plan for my life.
I grew up in a Christian home. From a young age, I understood that God’s plan for me was to serve others with the skills and gifts God has given me.
In university, I pursued civil engineering, specializing in structural engineering. During those years, God worked in my heart to point me towards missions in many ways. I read a book called God’s Smuggler by Brother Andrew, who had unshakable faith in God. Reading this book profoundly impacted my faith, teaching me to trust in God's provision. Another book, Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne, reinforced my ability to trust in God instead of in my own financial resources. Additionally, several mentors at my campus ministry, whose jobs involved support raising, showed me that a similar missionary lifestyle was possible for me.
During university, I began dating and got engaged to an amazing woman who was very devoted to God but had no interest in a career in Christian ministry. Knowing I was going to marry her, I accepted that being a full-time missionary wasn’t in my future. However, I told God that if we didn’t get married for some reason, I would seriously reconsider missions. Six months later, we broke up. Remembering my earlier promise, I decided to research ways to serve God with my engineering degree.
My searching led me to Engineering Ministries International. EMI fit all of my goals perfectly: to serve God with my professional skills, put my trust in God to provide, and work in a Christian environment. I served in Cambodia as an intern for six months in 2024. I am now returning to Cambodia to serve with the EMI office there for 18 months as a 2025 EMI fellow.
I am excited to share that by God's grace, I have reached my financial support goal through one-time contributions and monthly commitments!
