EMI partnered with Medair Ukraine to support their shelter advisor position through a combination of remote assistance and field-based secondment of EMI staff. Over a three-month period, EMI supported shelter teams in three locations across Ukraine as they carried out light and medium repairs to homes damaged by the conflict with Russia, converted multistory buildings into housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs), and repaired health clinics—helping restore safe, habitable spaces for affected communities.
