EMI developed a construction manual for an affordable and adaptable housing solution for families in Manchay, Peru, in partnership with the Life Resource Center’s Trades Program. The design included two housing models to accommodate different family sizes, with a modular approach that allowed the units to be constructed in phases and expanded as families’ needs changed. The base design incorporated living and sleeping areas, a cooking space, an indoor shower, and a wash basin. The project connected practical architectural design with vocational training, enabling students to apply the skills gained through the program’s four trade courses while contributing to a sustainable and dignified housing solution for the local community.
