Following the 2023 earthquake in eastern Türkiye, the Protestant Church Foundation in Istanbul requested that EMI evaluate the earthquake resilience of its churches and members' residential buildings. In response, EMI deployed a team to conduct rapid visual screening of buildings for potential seismic hazards using the FEMA P-154 methodology for 34 buildings. For buildings that scored below 2.0, EMI recommended further evaluation by a local structural engineer.
