Cherish Uganda Community Learning Center

Since 2011, Cherish Uganda has provided Primary Education to more than 200 students with an emphasis on children living with HIV and other vulnerabilities in nearby communities. In addition to supporting Primary School functions, the Community Learning Center (CLC) also supports other community outreach events through a large gathering hall, library, and computer training classrooms. School administrative offices along with a full-service kitchen and servery were also included in this phase. Together, these facilities are helping Cherish to build an education platform that is changing the message about HIV from negative to positive.

EMI Uganda partnered with Cherish to design and construct the CLC complex in 2018, supplementing Cherish’s community engagement efforts through training, discipling, and sharing the love of Christ with a locally-hired construction labour force.
