A small EMI team will be assisting with the repair and retrofit of a training center that was damaged from an earthquake in Mussoorie, India. The training center is used for many things in the community including preparing future leaders. Mussoorie is a beautiful hill station originally built by the British to escape the heat of the Northern Plains of India.

Project Scope

Our team will spend several days on site learning about the ministry and the function of the two-story stone masonry building that has been damaged by an earthquake, aging, and possible settlement.  Work will include documentation of existing building, research of repair of similar buildings, discussion of repair types with the client, selection of repair and retrofit types and methods, detailing of repairs, and other structural recommendations.

We are looking for just one structural engineering volunteer with seismic experience (stone masonry experience an additional bonus).  They will join up with a team of three from our EMI India office in Delhi.

Have you been looking for an opportunity to use your structural engineering experience to help build a world of hope? Please consider the volunteer opportunity below. We look forward to hearing from you!
