EMI has a great opportunity to assist a hospital in Bihar who face the threat of flooding each year during monsoon. During the site visit, we will hear from the Hospital leadership about their vision for expansion, and develop a flood resilience strategy, which in turn will enable them to continue life saving and transformational work.

Project Scope

The team will investigate the nature of the flood risk, this will include gathering flood maps, data and policy information from local government agencies and the Disaster Management Authority. In addition, through site observations and a topographical survey of the campus, we will be able to document the source and mechanism of the flooding.

The flood resilience strategy developed for the Hospital may include both community preparedness measures as well as technical solutions. The EMI team will need to outline the priorities for implementation of proposed measures, to mitigate against the impact of flooding.
