The Free Methodist Mission has a vision to continue to provide affordable medical care to the poor and needy and to share the love of Christ throughout central India. To further their goal, they have purchased 4.5 acres of land about two hours from their existing hospital and nursing college. Our project team will work closely with them to develop the master plan for this new site which will ultimately include a 150-bed hospital and a nursing college. We will also develop conceptual architectural design for the Phase 1 buildings which will give the hospital a 50 bed capacity. Our work will also include conceptual design of the associated infrastructure for the campus, in the initial and final stage of development.
The Free Methodist mission has been active in central India since 1951 and currently operates a hospital and nursing college about 2 hours drive from this new hospital site. They envision that this new hospital and nursing college, located in the neighboring Indian State, will be a place where the local population can receive affordable healthcare and experience the love of Christ.
The ultimate development will include 150 beds of capacity and have medical, surgical, pediatric, ICU, HDU, dialysis and emergency room functions. There will also be a nursing school component, similar to their existing campus. The first phase of development will include 50-beds of capacity and the initial phase of the nursing school. No existing facilities are constructed on this new site so it provides a wonderful opportunity to create a master plan that can serve as a roadmap for development for many years to come.
Programming efforts have already begun and will continue before the EMI team travels to the site. While there, our team will confirm the program and develop the master plan, infrastructure approach and conceptual design of the phase 1 buildings.
