Important message about the COVID-19 Coronavirus

In an effort to care for all of our personnel, families, and mission around the world, EMI has been taking a number of steps in response to the progress of COVID-19.

Location-specific Crisis Management Teams are now in place to monitor COVID developments, inform, and care for EMI personnel. All official EMI travel (including project travel) has been cancelled or postponed and no new travel plans are being prepared until further notice. EMI’s worldwide offices are in varying states of closure with personnel working remotely or from home as they are able.

We continue to actively monitor the situation and will respond to new information affecting our worldwide ministry and teams. We view the COVID-19 Coronavirus an opportunity to live out the gospel and our faith in Jesus through the ministry of EMI.

ServLife International envisions the Gospel bringing spiritual and physical restoration and healing in the most marginalized regions in the world. They seek to propel reconciliation and justice by building global community to plant churches, care for children and fight poverty.

ServLife believes that education and loving care are the keys to a bright future for every child.  Through their strategic school partnerships and children's homes, ServLife is providing education and care for over 400 children in India and Nepal.

Project Scope

An EMI team will be working with ServLife to design a new Children's Home for up to 60 kids on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal. This new facility, and associated infrastructure, will allow them to move from their current rented facilities, saving ongoing operational costs and securing a long-term home for these precious children.

Currently they are caring for children in two rental facilities in Kathmandu.  Recently they aquired a 0.16 acre site. Our team will be developing the site and building design for a new facility to care for up to 60 children.  The building will be multi-story, due to the size constraints of the site.  Spaces will include living accommodations, kitchen, dining, a garden and small play area.

In addition to the conceptual architectural and structural design of the building, our team will also develop the water, wastewater and electrical conceptual infrastructure design for the site.

Won't you join us in bringing the hope of Christ to these precious Nepalese children?
