EMI is excited to continue our long-standing partnership with Tenwek Hospital by assisting them in the development of a Surgery and Maternity Expansion. Established in 1937 and located in Bomet County, Kenya, Tenwek Hospital is the Medical Ministry of the Africa Gospel Church in collaboration with the World Gospel Mission. Today, Tenwek hospital is a large 360-bed teaching and referral mission hospital serving the needs of the vast South West region of Kenya and the country at large. The hospitals mission is to be a Christian community committed to excellence in compassionate healthcare, spiritual ministry, and training for service to the glory of God.
Tenwek Hospital recently completed the development of their facility wide 2019-2023 Strategic Plan. As part of this Strategic Plan, the leadership team identified areas for strategic growth and expansion allowing them to continue to live into their mission and vision as a medical facility. EMI has been invited to assist with the next areas identified for growth and expansion, which are Maternity, Surgery, and Pediatrics. As such, the EMI team will work with the hospital staff and leadership team to confirm and develop the program and provide a conceptual architectural design of the Maternity, Surgery, and Pediatrics Expansion. This will include associated mechanical and electrical infrastructure required in the buildings as well as connecting into the overall campus wide infrastructure. EMI is currently engaged with Tenwek on a separate project focusing on the water and wastewater infrastructure throughout the campus. As such, the new expansion will connect to the new infrastructure limiting scope for this project team in this regard.
This is an exciting time as God continues to use Tenwek Hospital for his kingdom work. Will you consider joining us as we help Tenwek Hospital be a Christian community committed to excellence in compassionate healthcare, spiritual ministry, and training for service to the glory of God through this exciting project!
