Important message about the COVID-19 Coronavirus

In an effort to care for all of our personnel, families, and mission around the world, EMI has been taking a number of steps in response to the progress of COVID-19.

Location-specific Crisis Management Teams remain in place to monitor COVID developments, inform, and care for EMI personnel. Decisions about official EMI travel (including project travel) domestically and internationally are being made on a case-by-case basis by Office Directors in locations concerned. EMI’s worldwide offices remain in varying states of closure with personnel working remotely or from home.

We continue to actively monitor the situation and will respond to new information affecting our worldwide ministry and teams. We view the COVID-19 Coronavirus as an opportunity to live out the gospel and our faith in Jesus through the ministry of EMI.

Provisionally postponed

It is EMI's privilege to partner with Hope Anew on the initial design for a new ministry campus. Hope Anew Ministry in Nairobi, Kenya is dedicated to promoting the truth of the Word of God to younger generations and setting them on the path to a right relationship with God by providing opportunities for children in impoverished areas to learn about the mighty works of God and His Son Jesus Christ. Hope Anew is rejoicing at the provision of nine acres of land in a scenic and picturesque area away from the city slums! This is the place to establish the Christian camp facility and to host hundreds of children during school break.

Project Scope

Our EMI team has been invited to design the ministry camp and infrastructure (I.e. water, supply, wastewater and electrical distribution). Master planning and a phased build-out approach is a huge part of the project which will span across many years.

Phase 1 will include: 10 cottages/cabins, outside ablution block, fields for games like football, basketball and ropes courses. Future phases will include but not limited to administration block, agricultural areas, workshops, multipurpose hall comprising a kitchen and dining hall which can be used for activities such as praise and worship and teaching seminars. Visioning and partnering with Hope Anew will inform a lot of the masterplan.

Please consider joining us and using your skills to serve this ministry and the children of Kenya.
