It is a privilege for EMI to partner with Helping Haitian Angels (HHA) on the Kay Anj Village (KAV) Secondary School in Northern Haiti. HHA’s mission is to serve children and families of the greater Cap-Haitien area. KAV currently operates a primary school for about 200 students with family-style housing for 54 children, and this proposed Secondary School will further the priority towards local education and provide vocational exposure and training for students. This project scope includes an overall site masterplan for KAV that includes growth for the Secondary School, a conceptual design of the first phase of the masterplan (classroom buildings for grades 7-9), and infrastructure recommendations for these additions.
Our EMI team will provide masterplan site drawings for the expansion of the KAV campus, including conceptual water site distribution plans and wastewater site plans with recommendations for water, wastewater, and site drainage system designs. Additionally, EMI will provide a conceptual architectural design of the first phase building(s) of the Secondary School. This may include 1-3 buildings depending on the layout. 3D renderings will be provided of the site and exterior views of the building, including a one-minute video animation.
HHA was established in 2008 and provides spiritual and physical care to abandoned and orphaned children in Dekle, Haiti. Their mission follows the biblical directive to rescue vulnerable children by providing family-style loving care and sustainable solutions that fight against Haiti’s child abandonment crisis. HHA loves, honors, and raises future leaders who will promote a more just society in Haiti through programs that equip Haitians to become authors of their own development. Their core values include faith, trust, enlightenment, courage, respect, and compassion. The impact of KAC includes the first primary school in Dekle, a growing church, and vocational instruction for youth. Learn more about this ministry at www.helpinghaitianangels.org.
We are looking to mobilize a team of EMI staff and several volunteers to Haiti in mid-June (around June 15 – June 23) to meet with the KAV leadership and staff and work towards a masterplan and conceptual design for this school. We will fly into and out of Haiti, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a forced overnighter.
Will you prayerfully consider joining us in designing a world of hope for the Kay Anj Village? Thank you for your prayers and consideration. God bless!
