EMI Uganda is currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role exists to help develop, maintain, and support a secure and well-functioning information technology environment for EMI Uganda and other EMI offices.
The IT Support Specialist plays a vital role in strengthening EMI’s ministry through dependable and thoughtful technical service. Working with staff and interns, this person provides practical solutions to IT challenges, supports office systems, and ensures the smooth operation of hardware, software, and networks that enable ministry across Uganda and beyond.

In addition to the typical EMI Staff prerequisites, candidates for this position must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows systems, networks, and software applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and cloud services such as Azure or AWS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and support users with patience and professionalism.
- A heart for serving others through technology within a Christian ministry context.
- Willingness and ability to work full-time in EMI’s Uganda office in Kampala.
The following are essential responsibilities for the IT Support Specialist position:
- Provide day-to-day technical support to EMI Uganda staff and interns, including hardware, software, and network assistance.
- Administer local IT systems, including account management, licensing, backups, and internet connectivity.
- Collaborate with EMI Global IT staff to maintain and secure organization-wide systems.
- Assist with training and orientation for staff and interns in IT use and best practices.
- Maintain hardware and software inventories and coordinate repairs or upgrades with local vendors.
- Support EMI’s discipleship culture, engaging in devotions, mentoring, and prayer with colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of IT standards and policies that support EMI’s ministry and mission.
