South Africa Newsletter, January
Office Update
We hope you were able to step into the festive season with moments of rest, joy, and breathing space, whether that looked like travel, quiet days at home, full tables, or simply a slower rhythm. As routines begin to settle again and calendars slowly fill, we wanted to begin this year by doing one simple thing together: returning to prayer.
Before the year gathered pace, our South African team headed to Stanford, families in tow, to start the year grounded, and aligned. Children ran ahead, conversations lingered long after meals, and we made space to pause before pressing forward. It felt important to begin the year with God's presence, reminding ourselves of who we are and how we serve together.
We serve best when we begin together, rooted in community, prayer, and shared purpose. As we enter this new year, our posture is simple: new year, new prayers. Some of them quite familiar, others feel brave and hopeful. We wanted to share a few with you, inviting you to carry them with us.
Our prayers for the year ahead:
- For wisdom and humility as we design alongside communities.
- For unity across teams, offices, cultures, and contexts.
- For protection, provision, and peace for our staff and their families.
- For listening hearts, that we would hear God clearly before we act.
- For our partners and clients, that the spaces created would serve life, dignity, and hope.
- For endurance and joy in the long, unseen work.
- For gratitude, even in complexity.
- For faith that remains steady, especially when outcomes feel uncertain.
Thank you for journeying with us, through seasons of rest and seasons of work. For praying, giving, encouraging, and standing alongside this ministry. As the year unfolds, we're grateful to step into it together.
