South Africa Newsletter, April
Office Update
At Easter, we’re reminded that new life begins with surrender, obedience, and a willingness to be sent. This story continues through the movement and moulding of people. We experience this at EMI South Africa as individuals step forward and growth unfolds in seen and unseen ways.
A season of movement
This season, that movement is visible in Chamonix Stuart, who is stepping into a new chapter in Madagascar. She will be leading a project through construction for just over a year.
Moments like this remind us that the work we are part of continues through people who are willing to go, to serve, and to step into what is next.
A Season of People Stepping In
At the same time, as some are sent, others are stepping in. We’ve welcomed new members into the EMI South Africa team:
Each arrival brings fresh perspective and capacity, strengthening both the work and the community that makes it possible.
A Season of Steady Growth
Not all growth is immediate. For many on the team, it has looked like a year of showing up and contributing meaningfully to projects.
We celebrate the one-year milestones of:
- Stuart Woodard
- William LoPatriello
- Mutinta Kaula
- Abraham Lourens
These milestones reflect a year of steady contribution, growth, and learning within the team.
A Season of New Life
And in the midst of all of this, we are also celebrating new life. Karolien d’Arifat and her husband Richard are expecting their first baby, and Henco Posthumus and his wife Bianca are expecting their second child.
These moments remind us that this work is carried by people, and their families.
Why This Matters
What we’re seeing across EMI South Africa is not just growth in meaningful projects, but growth in people.
People stepping out in faith and stepping into new roles.
People continuing faithfully in the work as families grow and are sent.
This kind of growth unfolds over time, often long before it is fully seen or understood, taking shape in the day-to-day work that doesn’t always draw attention, and sustained through people, commitment, and a community that carries it forward.
Invitation
As we continue into the year, we invite you to be part of this story and community.
Your support enables EMI South Africa to continue, developing people, strengthening teams, and serving communities in ways that last beyond what we can immediately see.
