I ask too many questions. Because of this, I stayed in graduate school long enough to receive a doctorate in ecological engineering. Along the way I was also trying to understand what it looks like to really follow Jesus. This led me to EMI, where over the course of an internship I discovered a wonderful community dedicated to serving God, His people, and His Kingdom.
While at EMI, I worked on the water supply plan for a large educational campus in Northern Uganda. As I thought about the life-changing impact the ministry has for so many young people, I realized how important this project was to the development of that community. But our plans depended on water supply from wells and we were hindered by lack of groundwater data, a major issue in the region. I knew there must be a better way!
I am excited to now be joining EMI’s new research and development program in the Uganda office. One of the projects I will be developing is a low-cost groundwater sensor, which will allow us to place life-saving wells with greater confidence. These groundwater sensors, among many other projects, will benefit so many of our ministry partners. I want to help EMI continually develop more effective and sustainable technologies to serve the Church and to share the Gospel.
Each year, EMI’s people complete over 100 development projects which serve the poor and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To keep these design services affordable for Christian ministries, EMI staff like me are responsible for raising their own financial and prayer support. We are so grateful for God’s provision through the generosity of donors. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with the great things God is doing through my ministry at EMI?
