This unique position combines technical contributions with management-level engagement to provide leadership to the project selection, client development, and contracting efforts in the office. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in a design firm environment with an interest in operational analytics. This person will manage project development and contracting processes, helping our office to engage in strategic projects while growing our local presence and developing staff capabilities. They will track staff capacity and oversee staff assignments to project work. 

Along with the managerial aspects of the role, this person will engage in technical work within their field as appropriate. In this role, a person should expect to lead 1 EMI project trip per year and provide technical mentorship or input on other project work as needed. 

This person will oversee staff in the following positions: Grant Writing; DR/DRR administration; Marketing & Business Development

Qualifications

In addition to the typical EMI Staff prerequisites, candidates for this position must have:

  • 10+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience in client relationship management and contract development.
  • Knowledge around development and presentation of project portfolios
  • BS or higher in a built environment discipline
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with ability to mentor others and effectively lead teams.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to the MENA region.
Responsibilities

The following are essential responsibilities for this position:

  • Lead the project development team in tracking staff availability, responding to project requests, selecting new work and generating project proposals
  • Oversee and direct staffing of all project work
  • Oversee all business development areas including marketing, DR/DRR, and grant writing
  • Project-related travel 1-2 times per year
  • Engage in spiritual and professional development through EMI's programs and opportunities.
