We met at Portsmouth Polytechnic over 40 years ago. David studied architecture and Jaz social administration with a post-grad in primary teaching. Married since 1980, we lived in the same house for 34 years and raised three daughters while David was a partner in an architectural firm and an elder in a small church.
In 2013, we put on backpacks and walked for 1121 miles from Portsmouth to Scotland. The Lord told us to make no plans. We heard about EMI and joined a project trip in Uganda. Afterward, David worked with EMI Uganda for a year while Jaz volunteered with a refugee charity. We returned to the UK in 2015, again with no plan.
The next year, David became EMI UK Director. Jaz supports EMI UK staff & volunteers abroad. It has been a steep, fascinating, and satisfying learning curve so far!
