Sandiara Cafe

Sandiara town sits at a strategic location along the national road connecting the west coast of Senegal to the eastern region. Each week Sandiara hosts one of the largest markets in the region where people congregate to share life.

Through foreign and local investment, the Mayor of Sandiara approved the building of a café/restaurant along the main road. Part of the Beersheba Project, it will be an intentional meeting place to connect cultures. The future plan is to construct a place for worship on the first floor, as well as offer accommodation for travelers with a small apartment.

This project used a new method of laterite compressed earth blocks as the main component of construction. EMI partnered with a local contractor to build and manage the project from start to finish.
