AMG Hospital, Guatemala
Project Details
AMG Ministries had a small house clinic and donated land, and they wanted a fully functioning hospital. In June 2014 an EMI project team designed a phased Masterplan for expansion of the hospital.
The one-story hospital building was completed in March 2017. Some modifications were made to the original designs. Due to funding constraints, the final building is smaller than the one originally designed but there is room for future expansion. The detailed designs were completed by a local architect and a Christian builder completed the construction. Designs were creative and culturally appropriate. Solar panels are used to provide some of the hospital’s energy demands.
The hospital serves around 30,000 people annually with local people being offered services and access to equipment that wouldn’t otherwise be available. Patients are charged for the services but at very affordable prices.
