AIM Primary School, Cambodia
Project Details
Over 400 students had been attending schools in rented and repurposed buildings in a community ravaged by the human trafficking industry on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. A new school has been constructed that is a part of a holistic outreach to the community to help families break the current cycle of poverty that they find themselves in. EMI partnered with international designers and a local contractor to oversee the construction of this nearly 2 yearlong project. Once opened, the school will be able to accommodate 1,000 neighbourhood students who may turn out to be future doctors, political leaders, scientists, and teachers. The community is already being restored through the ongoing work of AIM and the new school will allow this redemptive work to continue to grow to the next generation.
