EMI Uganda Workshop

The EMI Workshop was started in 2015. Over the years, the programme has grown in both numbers of workers and project scope beyond the limited space in the old EMI workshop. A new Workshop four times larger was proposed in 2017 to accommodate the growth.

The Workshop is divided between metal and wood work areas with a skylight along a central drive way. It is designed to accommodate all the fabrication workspace needs, storage, and office spaces. The shape of the roof, choice of materials, open layout and construction methodology are a product integrating the understanding of the site context and EMI material research feedback.
