Asian Hope Gym

Asian Hope International School (AHIS) exists to reach Cambodia for Christ by meeting the needs of vulnerable children and their families. One of the ways they do this is by providing a quality Christian education that can help families break the cycle of poverty.

AHIS has nearly 500 students in bilingual classes between Preschool and Grade 12. AHIS's enrollment and campus continues to grow -- the staff and students eagerly desired a covered gymnasium space for physical education, sporting matches, and other events.

EMI partnered with Asian Hope to design a long-span gymnasium structure which could be constructed within the physical and schedule constraints of a functioning school campus.

The Asian Hope Gym design focused around locally available material, maximum material thickness is 2.3mm (3/32"), to save cost and ensure construction could be completed over the short school break.

EMI staff Reatrey and Nivo oversee construction as the first truss is picked and set in place.
