Celebrating Daniel Propst’s 10 years of Service to EMI

EMI Uganda,

We're excited to celebrate Daniel Propst’s 10-year tenure with EMI! Daniel grew up in Kenya and comes from a long line of missionaries. He and his wife, Jen, met while they were both serving in southern Sudan. After working in the US manufacturing industry for several years, Daniel, Jen, and their three kids, Estella, Kharis, and Lawson, came to EMI Uganda to launch our Research and Development Programme as the R&D Manager.

Daniel embodies EMI’s core values. His desire to improve pushes us towards design and construction excellence. He drives us to utilize our diversity by seeking diverse cultural perspectives and incorporating our multidisciplinary experience. And he has a heart for the gospel and discipleship. Daniel has mentored many interns, led discipleship groups, and, through his devotions, he invites us into a deeper relationship with our loving Father.

Outside of EMI, Daniel has been a pillar of his church community, including being installed as an elder last year. He has a vast knowledge of the ubiquitous 1990s-era Toyota Landcruiser, with which he faithfully serves as the EMI Mamba driver (Makindye carpool car). Daniel is an excellent and charismatic storyteller and has a sharp and insightful sense of humor. He and Jen bring a wealth of global cultural expertise and maturity to our team, and we are so thankful for them!

Thank you, Daniel, for your ten years of service with EMI!

Celebrating Josh Neal's 10 Years of service to EMI

EMI United States,

Although Josh Neal came to EMI USA in the usual way one might look for a new job, it was not in the way staff typically join EMI USA. Josh was looking for a new job and heard about the HR Manager position through a friend at church. He quickly learned that EMI is not the typical US employer, and as he has worked with us over the past 10 years, he has adapted to EMI ways and become a stalwart figure in the office. Josh was the first staff member at EMI USA to be fully focused on Human Resources and with years of prior HR experience, he brought knowledge and structure to EMI USA HR during a critical growth period.

Josh quickly embraced EMI’s discipleship core value and readily engages in and helps lead office devotional times, days of prayer, and mentoring of interns and fellows. It’s apparent that discipleship is an important part of Josh’s world outside of EMI as well and his spiritual maturity is something we value and benefit from. We also greatly appreciate his sense of humor, his laid-back nature, and his ability to adapt.

When not in the office, Josh can be found performing with a local improv comedy group, building a set for a high school musical, volunteering at his church, or playing games with friends and family. Josh is married to Wendy and has two kids, Connor and Elise.

We are grateful for Josh and his 10 years of faithful service with EMI USA!

Celebrating Baher Wassif's 10 Years of service to EMI

EMI Mexico,

We're thrilled to invite you to celebrate Baher Wassif's journey with EMI! Over the past decade, Baher has contributed to more than 90 EMI projects, starting as a volunteer during his time as an architecture student in college. After graduating university with a B.Arch in 2011, he joined the EMI MENA team in 2014 as a staff architect. Baher quickly excelled as a project leader and furthered his education, earning a Masters degree in Non-Profit Management in 2020. His deep devotion to God and dedication to ministry have played a vital role in EMI's impact worldwide.

Baher and his wife, Sarah, have been happily married for 8 years. They've dedicated their lives to serving in various ministries and their local church, using their professional skills to help others. In 2022, they moved over 12,000 kilometers west to join the EMI Mexico office, where Baher leads projects and supports office leadership by training new staff and shepherding the overall vision of the team, while Sarah serves as intern coordinator. They are making a positive impact in their new home and continue to spread love and kindness wherever they go.

We joyfully celebrate this milestone with Baher and offer prayers for continued blessings upon him and Sarah in the years to come. Thank you, Baher and Sarah!
