Our Story
I (Anna) first Googled “engineering and missions” from my dorm room in 2005 when I was first burdened to use my education to further God’s kingdom. The road from there has been long and winding, but it is clear to me today that each step on that path has been part of God’s plan. My first step was YWAM, where God taught me His love for the nations by living cross-culturally and in developing countries. There, He also grew me deeper in my faith and gave me freedom and grace to pursue graphic design as a vocation. He led me back to a design-related environment in 2014, serving in communications and graphic design for Engineering Ministries International (EMI) in Colorado Springs while also opening up the opportunity to be a part of the Cambodia field office that launched in 2017.
Our office serves orphanages, hospitals, churches, and relief agencies who are bringing hope, love, and the Gospel to Southeast Asia. In Cambodia, our team will be ideally placed to bridge a learning gap between higher education and employment. By hiring Khmer recent graduates we give them the professional experience needed to be employable in the job market, while also having the unique opportunity to disciple them as we do life together. My job titles in the office are Intern Coordinator and Graphic Designer. I spend my days preparing for our interns from all over the world, promoting EMI Cambodia to our local clients, and supporting EMI Global with graphic design and media.
Sdam works for Iris Phnom Penh as assistant director as well as leading the social work team. Iris facilitates the rescue and restoration of young children who are being abused, exploited and/or trafficked. They also work with at risk individuals to prevent them from such exploitation and abuse.
God’s plan continues to unfold for us. We met at church shortly after I arrived in Cambodia, became friends, dated, and finally got married in 2020.
Missionaries with EMI and Iris work on a support basis, raising their living expenses from donations so that our services can be provided to ministries and groups that would otherwise not be able to afford them. Would you partner with us and join our support team?
