About

Operating since 2016, the EMI Senegal office has the desire to reach the peoples of West Africa, by providing design and construction services for Christian organizations that are involved in relief and development efforts in the name of Jesus Christ. This small but growing office has provided conceptual and detailed designs for different ministries across several countries in the region.

EMI Senegal has received grant funding to invest in infrastructure improvements and facility expansions, and equipment at medical facilities in Ghana. This position will manage the planning and implementation of these grant projects from conception through contruction completion.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Trust in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour, be living a vibrant Christian life, and agree to EMI’s Belief Statement.
  • Be involved and have experience in Christian discipleship helping others grow as disciples of Jesus.

In addition to the prerequisites listed above, candidates for this position must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or a similar field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience, construction management experience preferred.
  • Strong organisation and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain schedules.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Project management tool experience required (scheduling, budgeting, workflow, etc.).
  • Ability to learn additional project management software, knowledge of Procore preferred.
  • Professional working knowledge of English required.
  • Ability to be based in either Ghana or Senegal and travel frequently to project sites around Kumasi, Ghana, as well as interact regularly with the EMI Senegal office.
  • Experience working in West Africa or similar contexts preferred.
Responsibilities

The following are essential responsibilities for this position:

  • Spiritual and professional discipleship through EMI’s programmes and opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate all project-related activities and communications with stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain project contracts, schedules and budgets during the design and construction phases.
  • Oversee site activities and procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Manage subcontractors to meet contract requirements.
  • Support integration of medical equipment and operational workflows into facility upgrades.
