Important message about the COVID-19 Coronavirus

In an effort to care for all of our personnel, families, and mission around the world, EMI has been taking a number of steps in response to the progress of COVID-19.

Location-specific Crisis Management Teams remain in place to monitor COVID developments, inform, and care for EMI personnel. Decisions about official EMI travel (including project travel) domestically and internationally are being made on a case-by-case basis by Office Directors in locations concerned. EMI’s worldwide offices remain in varying states of closure with personnel working remotely or from home.

We continue to actively monitor the situation and will respond to new information affecting our worldwide ministry and teams. We view the COVID-19 Coronavirus as an opportunity to live out the gospel and our faith in Jesus through the ministry of EMI.

Professional Training & Experience

  • AA in Geography, Pikes Peak Community College, 2009
  • BA in Liberal Studies, emphasis Geography, Fort Hays State University, 2013
  • Master of Architecture, University of Colorado Denver, 2018

While studying Architecture at the University of Colorado Denver, April earned a certificate in Classical Architecture and won the Robert and Judi Newman Award for excellence in Classical and Traditional Design, student division. While in school, she gained professional experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for four semesters and spent one summer as an intern at Peter Vincent Architects (PVA) in Hawaii. At PVA, April got a taste what it is like to work with clients, hearing their stories and hopes of how their home would bless their growing families. She enjoys bringing that experience to the mission field and continues to learn how to build relationships with ministry clients.

Ministry Experience

April has always been willing to serve in her local church whenever there was a need. She has ministered to young babies to adult women in a variety of ways. It wasn’t until the summer of 2019 when she went on her first mission trip to India, that God showed her she could use His gift of architecture to further His kingdom. April joined staff in January of 2020.

Family

Mark and April have been married for 36 years. 25 of those years were spent in the United States Air Force. They have lived on three different continents and have visited numerous countries around the world. They have three children, Jeffrey, Keren and Gregory. All three are married and have given them eight grandchildren.
