Important message about the COVID-19 Coronavirus

In an effort to care for all of our personnel, families, and mission around the world, EMI has been taking a number of steps in response to the progress of COVID-19.

Location-specific Crisis Management Teams remain in place to monitor COVID developments, inform, and care for EMI personnel. Decisions about official EMI travel (including project travel) domestically and internationally are being made on a case-by-case basis by Office Directors in locations concerned. EMI’s worldwide offices remain in varying states of closure with personnel working remotely or from home.

We continue to actively monitor the situation and will respond to new information affecting our worldwide ministry and teams. We view the COVID-19 Coronavirus as an opportunity to live out the gospel and our faith in Jesus through the ministry of EMI.

Ministry Experience

Lesley began serving as an expat missionary in Danli, Honduras in 2013, working with a local church plant of the Great Commission Latin America network. There, she learned first hand how various kinds of social projects can bring people to the gospel, tending to physical needs while also meeting spiritual needs. She worked as the lead teacher at the local church's childrens development center, and also helped coordinate short term mission teams that visited the Danli church.

In 2016, Lesley moved to Managua, Nicaragua to help launch the EMI Nicaragua office, which serves other ministries in Nicaragua and throughout Central America by providing professional design and construction services. Lesley had the privilege of developing EMI Nicaragua's intern programme for both international and local intern participants, in addition to working part-time as an assistant for the office director and event coordinator.

Lesley's passion for this in-house ministry opportunity of EMI to disciple the next generation of design professionals during some of the most formative years of their adult lives continues on. In February 2019, Lesley moved to Colorado, USA to join the Global Office and oversee the intern programme amongst EMI's eleven offices worldwide. In 2021, Lesley will begin managing the fellowship programme as well.

Lesley has a beautiful son, Avery Lucas, who was born to her and her husband in Nicaragua during her time there. Her little dual-citizen, world traveler is now two years old and thriving.
