Beirut Baptist School (BBS) has invited EMI to partner with them to help develop a Master Plan for their campus in the heart of Beirut.
BBS’s purpose is to prepare students in mind, body, and spirit to meet the challenges of the world around them. As such, the school continues to share the spiritual concerns of its founders. BBS seeks to promote the love of God in all they do, to liberate the mind and soul from the bondage of ignorance and fear. Their task as a learning community is to help students flourish socially, spiritually, and academically.
From its modest beginnings in a small two-story building in 1955, BBS has expanded to occupy a 6,700 sqm (72,000 sqft) plot in the heart of Beirut. The school has grown throughout the decades, even staying open during Beirut’s 15-year civil war, when it continued to serve its community by educating young minds and standing for truth and justice.
BBS would like to develop a Master Plan for their urban campus including their existing buildings for preschool, elementary, secondary, administration, playgrounds and parking. This would include looking at how to optimize the efficiency and usability of their current buildings and how to expand strategically for future growth. This could include adding additional floors or going underground. The campus is in a dense part of Beirut so creative problem solving skills will be needed.
We are looking for an experienced Master Planner that ideally has experience working with schools. A junior architect, structural engineer and surveyor will also be helpful to assist the design team.
This project will be led by the MENA office. Would you prayfully consider joining our team?
